Student-centred learning in small classes: Staff in the Department of Economics work closely with postgraduate students to provide an intensive, person-centred learning experience. The small class size on our taught postgraduate programmes – averaging 25 students per class – ensures a supportive and personalised learning environment and provides constant opportunity for contact and communication with academic staff. These links have developed through organising the work placement component of the M.A./Master in Economic Science programme, through our research and consultancy activities with government departments, development agencies and other public and private bodies and through other research and professional activities.
