Kieran Walsh completed his PhD in 2004 on “The Effects of Nursing Home Institutionalisation on the Cognitive, Sensory and Sensorimotor Abilities of Low Dependency Older Adults” at the University of Limerick (UL). He remained in UL lecturing within the M&OE Department until joining the Centre for Health Promotion Studies at NUIG in November 2005, where he worked as a Senior Researcher on the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children project. In April 2006 Kieran undertook the role of Research Officer in the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology, where he has both research and teaching responsibilities.
