Eithne Murphy has studied at University College Dublin, Kiel Institute for Advanced Studies, European University Institute (Florence) and School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London. She has previously worked in the Irish Civil Service, University College Dublin and Teagasc. Her principal current research is in the history of thought as it relates to international trade theory. She is also engaged in collaborative ongoing quantitative and theoretical research in: (i) the cost of children in Ireland; (ii) inflation indices and poverty; (iii) agri-environmental schemes in Ireland.
