International Study [picture]

A period of study abroad can be a very rewarding experience. You will learn how to adapt to the culture of a foreign country, improve your language skills and benefit from the different approaches taken to your subjects in another educational system. Proof of your ability to live and work in a foreign environment can be a valuable asset for graduate work and future employment.

Interested in coming to NUI Galway to study?

We have a long and valued tradition of learning and scholarship here at NUI Galway and in recent years the University has committed itself to expanding and deepening its international links through staff and student exchanges and research collaboration.

NUI Galway places tremendous value on the cultural and academic contribution of visiting students and, in return, we anticipate their time with us will be intellectually stimulating and personally enriching.

You can come to study Economics at NUI Galway in one of the following ways:

Apply to spend one semester or a full year in NUI Galway as part of your undergraduate degree programme. A student from any country can apply to spend part of their studies at Galway . However, in the case of students form the EU and the US there are special Visiting Student programmes - - read more about applying from a European or a US university

Apply for an undergraduate degree as an overseas applicant. Because of the demand from Irish applicants, the number of places on all programmes is limited and entry is competitive. Further information is available from the International Affairs Office in NUI Galway (ph: 353 91 512696).
Apply for a place on one of our postgraduate Economics programmes - there are a number of places for overseas programmes on each of these programmes - check out the Prospective postgraduate section of this web site for detailed information on each programme.
